What is my purpose?

When my boys were little, my best friend and I would watch Oprah and drink Lattes while our kids played. Oprah would often talk about finding your purpose. I found myself wondering if I even had one.

Have you ever felt this way? Have you ever wondered who you are really and what you are here for? I know that after I went through my divorce I had a bit of an identity crisis. I began to really ask God to show me how to be me. As I entered into my forties and now nearing my fifties, I can say that I am the most "me" I have ever been. I am still a work in progress, but I am learning that God made me on purpose for a purpose.

I spent a lot of years trying to figure out who I was "suppose" to be or who I felt other people wanted me to be. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that most people want you to be authentically you. We love people who are real. God made you perfectly and He has amazing plans for you.

John 10:10 says "The thief comes to steal kill and destroy, I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly".This is overwhelming to me. God has already given us the Hope of Heaven, but He also promises and abundant life while we are here. This scripture has not only become my life verse as I have watched it play out in my life, but it is also my purpose.

I believe God has purposed me to encourage women that Satan might have tried to destroy something in your life, but it is not too late. God will work all things for good and he still has an abundant life for you.

As we begin 2016, what a perfect time to decide to boldly live your life with intention. Life is not something that happens to you, you can choose to live your life on purpose.
